Leif Tore Lindø text
Alexander Rybak is better than Saturday-candies
Ella (almost 5) song all she could and forgot all her candies when Alexander Rybak started playing.
BACKGROUND: Ella has had a passion for Alexander Rybak.
“Fairy Tale”, or “Fevitai”, is performed roughly a zillion times in home. Dad has after his best ability held Rybak at an arm’s lenght distance, but was fascinated by the fuss in a Skavland phenomenon-way.
On Saturday we were both in concert with the Grand Prix winner in theStavanger Concert Hall.
- Dad, aren’t thy going to start soon?
- Yes, when the lights in the ceiling are turned down.
- You mean that they go off?
- Jess.
- Oåkei.
Trouble: The light go off, the band comes on, and we hear the violin playing. Rybak shows up. Howling and applause. Stylized intro, but it stops.
“The machine does not work” says Rybak, schratches his hair, smiles and pulls up triumph-card immediately.
- Fevitai! Dad, Fevitai!
- Jess. Sing along.
- You too.
- Ehh … ok.
- Aim at lååv width feviteiii, ive dåo in høøøs.
WORN OUt SONG: Dad has repeatedly, in public forums, expressed that this song is worn out. But we sing. All of us.
- Is it too loud?
- Huh?
- IS THE SOUND TO LOUD?
- No. But there is a lot of smoke here. Can I get something to drink?
- Jess, we have brought water.
- I’m hot too. I am boiling.
OUT In THE CONCERT HALL: Rybak takes a trip out in the hall while he sings. He gets teddy bears and flowers and greet the audience. Now he stands ten feet from us. Ella, who has previously been at the edge of the chair to see as good as possible, is not so brave anymore.
- Oi, he came right up here.
- Yes. You could have shaken his hand.
- I didn’t want to.
- Oh?
- No. It is enough to look at him.
- Ok.
SATURDAY CANDY: This is a real family concert. Dad and Ella are extremely representative. We should just have brought with us a young teenager. After an hours show Rybak brings up a girl on stage, who has been too many concerts.
“You’re Just Too Good To Be True”, he sings, as he gives her lots of teddy bears, hugs and finally a kiss, on her mouth.
- Did you see that Ella?
- Mhm. Are they lovers?
- No, she has only been to many concerts.
- They kissed.
- Yes, they did.
- Can I get my Saturday candy?
- Jess.
Nice: A small miracle. It takes nearly an hour before the question of more E-vitamins come. Ella is not the type who forgets saturday candy, unless the entertainment is very good. Rybak is better than saturday candy. That is today’s throwing the dice.
- Now what do you think?
- Nice.
- What was nice?
- Hmm All Seeing Alexander Rybak for real.
- Did you like the music?
- Mhm Especially the songs I had heard before.
- Did you like best when he sang or when he played the violin?
- What do you think?
- I think he’s better at playing the violin than to sing.
- I think both.
SUCCESS: One and a half hours with band, dancers and Alexander Rybak in person has been a smash success. Even though dad still thinks Rybak is a better violinist than singer, and although “Fevitei” is a worn out song, this is not the night to whine or try to be Kreds daemon. He came, he song and he won. Rybak is a popcultural phenomenon who right now is stronger than candy.
- Do you like Alexander Rybak more, less or just as much now that you’ve been to a concert with him?
- More. Can I get a CD with Alexander Rybak?
- Mhm.
HOLY VIOLIN: Alexander Rybak made a smashing show together with band and dancers in the Stavanger Concert Hall. Grand Prix winner made Ella forget the extra bought overdosis of Saturday candies, and dad in fact forgot the rock technical distance gradually.
